grabbing the chart and moving it in all directions

    Hello

It's currently possible to grab a chart and move it side-to-side freely by left-clicking with the mouse and dragging.

But not up and down - why so?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Thank you for your post. To move chart data vertically, hold Ctrl + click, hold and drag. See the below section of our help guide for more on chart navigation.

      Hello

Yes I know how to do it, but why do we need to hold Ctrl?

Why doesn't it just move when grabbed?

        Thank you for your reply.

I understand, this is by design at this time - I will certainly submit your feedback and suggestion to our development team to later feature consideration.

The ID for this request is SFT-931. You may reference this ID in the future regarding this matter. If implemented, this would also list in the NinjaTrader Help Guide release notes along with all updates upon release (Help > Help > Release Notes).

          Thanks.

So there is no actual reason why we have to do it this way right now? It just happens to have been designed that way?

          Thanks.

It would probably result in one big turn off in user experience with charts going all over the place, as it comes out of auto mode into fixed, right? How many people would accept that?

If anything, it would be acceptable to have an user override, disable control key to move chart.

Correct, this is the method chosen to navigate charts in NinjaTrader 7 and 8 as well.

Thank you, sledge, we do also have notes regarding a possible Properties option on this matter, I will make sure your vote is counted as well.

It could be possible to do it without waiting, if someone could be able to convert MousePan indicator. It is here: https://futures.io/elite-circle/3520...tml#post492615
You can move a chart freely with this indi, but unfortunately it is only for NT7...

I do not like holding down the ctrl key for a vertical pan - This needs to be optional behavior.

                    Hello Bidder,

                    Thank you for your post.

In NinjaTrader 8, users can press the Up and Down arrow keys to pan vertically in a chart.

What about developing mouse Gestures for Ninja...??...has this been proposed ??

Mouse Gestures are a quick way to execute commands with a mouse instead of using the keyboard, toolbars, or menus. The user simply holds down a mouse button (usually the right one), and moves the mouse in a certain way to form a gesture, then releases the mouse button.

Please add my vote to SFT-931, and it seems SFT-2082 tracks the same thing, then please add my vote to that as well if the two are not merged. Once the scale changes from Auto to Fixed, I don't get why the need to hold Ctrl when moving the chart. I fix the scale for the sole purpose of moving the chart. This is really a common operation that should not require two hands.

It has been almost 2 years. Any update on the development? Please add my vote to these requests.
