support for custom category names for properties

I like having the ability to group my own params via custom category name when manual coding in C#. This seems to work great when visualizing/editing params with the Strategy Analyzer (via altering of name within [Category("Parameters")] code).

But it does not work correctly when visualizing/accessing these custom named category of properties from the chart via CTRL-S (Strategies...). Would be great if you could add that support. It is very useful to be able to group your own set of params when there are many..

    JD,

Unfortunately this is beyond the level of support that we can offer.

its not a support request, but a feature request

I'm not asking for support, just making a suggestion for future capability...thus my posting to the Suggestions and Feedback sub-forum.

Any chance this will be supported in NT7? Even a simple facility for allowing custom parameter names with "Parameters" as prefix in the name like so would be great to help improve property presentation of params to end user for large # of params in a strategy:

          [Category("Parameters 1")]
          [Gui.Design.DisplayName("1.1 Entries only at Crosses")]
          ...
          [Category("Parameters 1")]
          [Gui.Design.DisplayName("1.2 Length")]
          ...
          [Category("Parameters 1")]
          [Gui.Design.DisplayName("1.3 Multiplier")]
          ...

          [Category("Parameters 2")]
[Gui.Design.DisplayName("2.1 Stops act as Stop-Limit Orders")]
          ...
          [Category("Parameters 2")]
          [Gui.Design.DisplayName("2.2 Stop Limit Offset Ticks")]
          ...

          etc.

Currently Ninja 6.5 will only present Categories with name of "Parameters" exactly. If not going to be in 7, then consider this suggestion of "Parameters" prefix in name as suggestion to have it show up in properties GUI for end user.

            jdfagan,

Though not supported, you can already type in a different category name and it will show up.

A reply from a previous thread

I was given an affirmative answer in a previous thread, which seems to contradict this thread.

Will NT7 allow unique category names to show up in strategy dialog?

                  Josh,

It doesn't work with Charts, only from the Strategy Tab.

                  Can you elaborate?

Correct, getting the same result on 6.5 r2kTrader - unfortunately a not supported feature as noted earlier. Works the same for Charts and Strategies tab in NT7.
