Measuring Time and Price of a Swing

MEASURING TIME AND PRICE RANGE OF A SWING

I have been trying to find a replacement for a tradestation feature that I use all the time.

On Tradestation, when I draw a trendline, the system will display the time / price range of the swing.

I cannot find anything similar for NT. I was hoping you might know how to do that.

Hello ClydeMacLeod,

Unfortunately this is not supported in NinjaTrader 6.5.

However, this will be supported in NinjaTrader 7 as per the link below.

New Ruler Drawing Tool
Ruler drawing tools allows you to draw as many rulers as you wish that measures the X and Y values between two selected points. You can also easily measure, get the values and right click to cancel the action should you not wish to maintain the ruler on the chart.

Jason, what exactly are the values that are measured ?
and can the second point be to the right of the last price bar ?

several users including me have previously requested a cross-hair cursor similar
to MT 4's that
1: displays the quantity of price bars between point A - B
2: displays the quantity of ticks between points meaning being able to drag on
a down or up angle
- this information is only available as long as the left button mouse is held down
the date, time, ohlcv data appears on the bottom menu bar

is the New Ruler Drawing Tool able to do the same - count/display the bar/tick quantity ?
if so, it would be very good if the Ruler were able to Display or not, start/end points with a
vertical line


also, does NT have a copy/paste command - to c/p a fibo, any trendline, etc ?

Hello tradr,

Yes, the Ruler will display the amount of bars (X-axis) and amount of points (Y-axis) between 2 points.

This information will be displayed in a window, which you can position on the chart where you like. The information remains displayed.

Yes, you can use Ctrl + c and Ctrl + v to copy and paste drawing objects in a chart.
