Hotkeys needed for Strategy editing

Since this thread is like Christmas : I'd like hotkeys for the development of indicators and strategies. One to open the "edit indicators" and one to open the "edit strategies" window. Then in the source code window Ctrl-S should be bound to the save function. And please get rid of the confirmation window telling me that a script has compiled successfully. I know my code is ok and it's just an extra window I have to close.

AFAIK there is currently only F4 - save and F5 - compile.

I'd like to have a hotkey to

- open up the greyed-out & folded-up sections, and close them again

- a hotkey to format the script nicely

- hotkey to pop-up the parameters tooltip inside method brackets

- comment out / decomment

Just come across another hot key I would appreciate:

in the Strategy Analyzer, after changing the properties and the parameters, it would be great to have hot keys:

- to set the new settings as default

- to start the backtest / optimization / walk-forward

Ctrl+O = optimize
Ctrl+W = walk forward

Hi Josh,

Ctrl + B opens the properties window for backtesting. I'm talking about actually launching a backtest (the action launched by clicking the button).

You can just Ctrl+B and then press Enter to start the backtest.

Not when you change one of the parameters or properties. After that, you have to navigate down through the rest to move the cursor onto the 'run' button.

Pressing 'Enter' only move the focus to the value of the property / parameter.

Correct adamus, after changing a parameter you would need to restore proper focus to the 'backtest' window.

If it's not a mouse action, then fine, I can live with an extra keystroke, but I can't see how this is done.

You can change your parameter and then press tab several times till the Run Backtest button is selected and then press Enter.

A hot key to OPEN a workspace please

At the moment, it is possible to assign a hot key to save and to close a workspace, but navigating through the menus is still required to open a workspace.

Hi Ben,

Yes, I have been using NT 7 for a while, but as far as I am aware an option to assign a hot key for opening a workspace is not available.

There are options to assign hot keys to go to Next and Previous workspaces, and to Close and Save a workspace, but not to Open one already created but not currently active.

If you could confirm this, please add that option to the "list of future considerations".
