Hi: I'd like the facility to add a Trade Type identifier to each trade so I can compare profitability of various trade types. This would make NT really powerful for trade analysis, because we could generate reports to show which trade types are most profitable, and which ATM Strategies are working best for any type of trade.
My idea is to have a Trade Type selection box on order windows (maybe in the Advanced Options section?). We would make up a list of our Trade Type names (Range Scalp, London Close, Gap Fill, whatever) with a simple Save As menu, and select one (or None) as we make up the order. Trade Type would then appear as a column in Account Performance, and as a selection parameter column in the Advanced view.
I know there are workarounds available for this: a) I can save an ATM Strategy with the name of each combination of Trade Type and Strategy parameters I use - providing I'm happy to have a deep list of ATM Strategies (10 Trade type Names x 10 basic ATM strategies = 100 ATM names), or 2) I can export an Account Performance report then add a Trade Type column, enter my trade descriptions manually (groan) and analyse from there - but it would be better, quicker, and more elegant to have it built into NT, and I guess this would be fairly easy to code?
