IB Advisor support

Hi,

Any feedback on the planned Ib advisor account support?

Most of your competitors have this already sorted out and many of us do not wish to give up on ninja, but not having access to advisor accounts at IB makes it very hard to grow a trading business.

Ninja is a great software but the lacking of such features shoud be fixed before it is too late

Thank you for contacting us.

It is possible to connect NinjaTrader to this type of account and directly trade in sub-accounts. Full support for IB advisor accounts is something we hope to offer in the future however there is no ETA for this type of change currently.

I can directly trade subaccounts, but I cannot use accounts groups using automated strategies. As soon as you hae a few subaccounts, it is quite messy to manage this setup.

It would be nice to know if we can reasonably expect this feature in the near future.

Account groups work fine from other Ninja order entry tools, but not when using strategies on a chart.

Since the type of functionality you are seeking is not presently supported within NinjaTrader, I have documented this feature request and will have our product development team review and add this to our tracking.

I am also looking for Advisor account support BUT I only have two sub-accounts in my list. You mention that trading in a sub-account is currently available from a strategy.
Does this mean I can specify which sub-account the current trade should use OR I need two separate strategies for each account.
I am currently using another system which I am "jumping through hoops" to do auto-bot on 20 stocks and would like to find another tool.

I have heard back from development and the suggestion to fully support Interactive Brokers Adviser accounts as well as using automated strategies and account groups are being tracked with ID #'s 1011 & 1113 respectively.

Any idea if development will implement this feature? I would like to know whether to expect this feature on the near future, or whether I should just move to MultiCharts.

I cannot run my managed account business without this.

I would hate to stop using Ninja but I cannot wait forever

I guess this is not as easy as i think,

Since the allocation profile is defined in the TWS, all we need is that profile
To be listed when inserting the strategy.

This is IBs view on the subject:
"Our Trader WorkStation and API both allow for our Friends and Family advisor accounts to trade for groups of accounts at once.

Instead of picking an account number (ie. U1234567) then the client would be picking an ‘allocation profile’ that they’ve created in TWS and named, maybe the client would name it and call it something like “strategy A profile” or “20-40-40”.

Is this something Ninja Trader could facilitate transmitting an order for instead of a U account?"

I think the only chance you will see this is in NT 8, but you may already realize that. I would push for it there.
