Enhancement for NT8 y axis scaling

With small time-frames, when I set the y axis to display at a particular resolution, the market often moves off the screen and requires me to drag the y axis up or down with the mouse.

What I'd like to see is an option for the y axis scale, perhaps in the 'Based on' property, which tells Ninja to scroll the y axis to keep the latest price on the screen all the time without changing the resolution I set - i.e. there will always be 20 pixels per tick or the y axis will always show 10 ticks for example, as set when I manually scale the axis with the mouse.

    Does that make sense?

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

Within your chart window you can set an upper and lower margin with the following steps:
    • Right click within the Y-Axis
    • Properties
    • Margin type
    • Input a value for Margin upper and Margin lower
    • Click Ok

Please let me know if this setting helps achieve what you are looking for.

      Hi Christopher,

I think I'm not getting my point across. I want the chart to display the current bar on the chart at all times.

Currently Ninja only does that if I set the scale to 'auto'.

If it's fixed, then those values you mention are set and the chart doesn't show the current candle if the market moves beyond them either above or below.

Do you get where I am coming from now? I want the scale resolution to be fixed, but not the actual y axis max & min itself.

When setting up a Percent Margin for the upper and lower this will continue to keep the chart in auto scale and price will not move off the viewable chart window.

If you want to manually adjust the Y-Axis currently there is not a setting to stop the price from moving off the viewable window however development has assigned this feature request ID #1414 in their tracking system.

Good to know the enhancement request exists. Let's hope it makes the cut.
