Change of Instrument in Disabled strategy (Urgent)

    Hi,
I would like to report one important inconvenience with maintaining our live strategies.

Today all currency futures are rolled and I spent more than 4 hours setting up
the same and already existing strategies, just because of changing the instrument
    is hidden/block in disabled strategy.

    This should be really fixed.

    Problem occurs on each rollovers
    • 4x year on currency futures
    • 12x a year on gold,
    • 12x a year on crude oil.

We simply cannot configure the same strategies again and again
and repeat this task for all strategies and all instruments.
Each strategy has many (50+) settings and it is very precise and error prone task,
that should be done once and not repeated if possible.

The whole development team including our executives are angry about this behavior.
They asked me to ask for change - because we suffered some losses because of misconfigurations caused by these frequent changes. I know, this is completely our problem, but I would like to ask you change this huge inconvenience.

It is very inconvenient to spent so much hours for configurations for all our existing and deployed strategies, just because there is no way to update the instrument in the existing strategy. It is also very risky practice, because when you have 50+ strategies with 50+ settings for each strateggy - there is really big chance of typo/misconfigurations.

This should be really fixed, otherwise there is no good future in maintaining
real world lists of deployed strategies.

Please, enable change of the instrument in disabled strategy,
like it can be configured when setting up new strategy.

    Best regards

    Hello Misova,

Please note that you can save strategy settings as follows. Once you setup all strategy settings as you like in the New Strategy window (or Strategies menu in a chart), please right click in the grid and select 'Set Default For *strategy name*'. Subsequently if you apply the strategy in the future, it will use the same settings.

I will forward your feedback to switch instruments for active strategies to development to put it on the list of future enhancements.

      Thanks,
we are aware of this feature and this helps partially.
      • There is still need to set default setting for the copied strategy,
      • don't forget to select the strategy from when creating new one,
      • check if it is the right with expected settings
      • set the Account, because this is also always reset to default Sim for each strategy,
      • set the right instrument (from the incovenient 2x nested form, but this is minor problem)...

You know, it is still problematic and risky = error-prone process.

Thank you for sending to the development team.
Please accent this as very important feature for basic usability and real world use,
      where more strategies are deployed.

We are just exploring how this works in other comparable platforms
like multi-charts, but I would really preffer to wait for fixing this missing feature in NT.

      Best regards
      Misova
