I would like to suggest NT implement a new kind of time template so that price actions within a predefined time period (quite period) can be compressed to one single bar. For example, for YM, ES or NQ charts, I would like to view 60min charts but with overnight price actions between 17:00pm to 7:00am compressed to one single candlestick bar.
We may even generalize this kind of idea to use different time resolution for different time period. For example, instead of use one bar to illustrate the price actions within 5 minutes, for overnight trades we can use 60min bar while in regular trading hours the resolution is automatically switches to 5min. So that we may use the same chart to spot more information because the redundency in quiet periods is removed.
I don't know how NT implement its charting engine. It seems when there is not trades for a specific bar, the bar is not shown. If there is the case, then the implementation of the above mixed time frame is not impossible.
