Human error might allows someone to click this and completely destroy a portfolio of positions. i almost did this myself in NT7 recently and would have liquidated many live positions of many 100s of lots by mistake... Habit when autotrading to untangle all the stuck orders and positions in NT7 would be to use that button/menu alot. When live trading you cannot use this... it is a feature that can cause big problems...
It would better to:
1. Flatten by account and instrument
And never unless you are very small have to use this:
2. Flatten by account - not really good either-...
3. have the option to disable the Flatten Everything altogether
For large accounts Flatten All is a big red button that should be labelled "DO NOT PRESS THIS EVER!" - so its very undesirable except for small retail traders who probably wont ever understand what is like to see millions at risk and one click of the wrong button can completely destroy it all... its easy to click it by mistake.
Please consider
1. Flatten by account and instrument in its place or additionally
2. Allow User to Configure and Disable the "blow up your fund" Flatten Everything - menu.
Of course that is if you want to attract and keep some commercials who use NT for technicals only - but would use it provided it were built with them in mind etc and safety is the key consideration,... Userbility - no nasty things left lying in the grass to tread on
