Separate candle body outlines for Up/Down Bars

I like to have the ability to have independent candle body outlines for up bars and down bars. The current option only allows for one color for both up and down bars and since the up and down bars are almost always different colors then it makes it impossible to find a candle outline that works with both colors other than maybe black or white.
Of course this isnt imperative for making money trading, but when you stare at these charts for hours and hours every day its nice to be to fully customize the charts in a way that suits you.

    Thanks
    William

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

Considering the current option allows for one color for up and down bars, I can see where your suggestion would be of added benefit. I will submit your suggestion to our Development team for future feature consideration.

    Thank you for your feedback!

You can always write an indicator to do that. Are you asking for something different?

            Billko and Pete,

Perhaps the attached will be able to bring some wanted colors into your trading lives. Let me know if it does.

            (It's for NT7).

              nfsCandles Indicator

Not sure where I downloaded this NT7 indicator from.

I like nfsCandles because it only effects the candle outline, and it has special consideration for Doji candles.

Since nfsCandles only affects candle outline colors (and not the color of the candle body itself), this may be exactly what you need.

You can set 3 different candle outline colors:
              • Candle Outline for Doji
              • Candle Outline for Down Bar
              • Candle Outline for Up Bar

Attached is a screenshot showing the indicator settings I use for charts with a black background.

On black charts, I like to color the outline of Up/Down candles same as the candle body, but I want Doji candles to be shown in white. Why? Because the default outline color, which is black, is obviously not visible on a black background, so I use white instead but only for Doji candles.

Using the nfsCandles indicator, you get more control over the candle outline color than that provided by "Chart Style" in the "Data Series" dialog.

No, the nfsCandles indicator I uploaded is for NT7 only.

I just edited my posting to include that detail, thanks for the catch.

However, porting nfsCandles to NT8 should be straightforward, I would think.

                    How about this?

It could easily be adopted for other uses.

Thank you so much. This is what I'm looking for. It works perfectly.
