Ninjascript editor view jumps on compile

    Hi,

Every time I run compile the view in the editor jumps to the top. This breaks my train of thought and I would like to continue looking at my code exactly where I left off while the compile is running. Is there a particular reason the editor view has to jump on compile? If not, can you please change this behaviour to let the current editor view to remain where it is.

    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hello Tim,

    Thanks for your post.

I have attempted to replicate the issue and have been unable to do so. When I scroll down to a specified spot and use the compile function the editor has maintained the position I directed it to.

There is a possibility that something within your code could be causing the jump. Have you seen the same with other scripts or just one in particular?

      I don't see this either. NT8B11.

Nailz - are you doing anything special?

        NT7.31

I can reproduce it with indicators, not strategies. Even just saving an indicator (F4) scrolls to the top.

          Hello,

          Thanks for your reply.

We would like to take a look at an example indicator you are experiencing this issue with.

Please send an email to [email protected] and include a copy of the indicator so that we may test this further.

Also, please reference this forum post URL http://ninjatrader.com/support/forum...ad.php?t=86456 so we may quickly link these together.

I look forward to assisting you further.

I see on my machine "jump" to the top also - but it returns to the previous location. The compile was fast as this is a small indicator.

So your's does NOT return to the previous location?

Do you have 1,000 lines of code?

            Try testing another indicator?

I tested on Win7 64 bit and in NT7v31... all the latest updates and video drivers.

It does return, but I have a lot of indicators and strategies and NT7 compiles everything each time.

                Thank you for your reply.

The jump that the compile causes is either a bug that was not caught during NT7 development or an ActiPro limitation which was out of our control.

However, this issue has been addressed in NinjaTrader 8 and will no longer jump to the top of the page upon compiling.

Please let us know if we may assist you further.
