    Charts - snap to grid?

I have been away from NT for years. I've come back to look at subscribing to NT8 for life - however, unless I am wrong, it seems even now, 7 years after I first posted about it, NT still does not have a feature for snapping charts and other windows neatly together?

Is this correct? Will I still have to manually line them up in rows and columns? I find this an extraordinary oversight! This is the most basic thing I would expect on a high-end dedicated charting solution....

Please tell me in 7 years someone has updated this feature??

I cannot justify $1000 if the package doesn't have this essential feature. Even crappy MT4 has had this for years.

    Hello Irukandji,

Unfortunately NinjaTrader does not have such a function itself. You could tile/cascade NinjaTrader charts and other windows using the Windows function in the task bar. Please see the publicly available link below.

I will forward the suggestion to support a function in NinjaTrader to snap NinjaTrader windows together to development.

Well it's been 7 years already so I don't hold much hope lol

Don't you guys have meetings? Meetings where people make suggestions about how to improve the product and thus dominate the market?

This is so obvious I don't even know why it wasn't designed that way for NT7 in the first place.... it's just crazy.

The suggestion is present on the list of possible future enhancements and is assigned to SFT-1499. We added your vote.

          Irukandji,
Please, pretty please, can you post a chart or two with examples of what you mean, "snapping charts and other windows neatly together"---maybe from MT4?. Sounds interesting, but I've never seen this feature myself. What exactly does this mean? Also, Jason posted a "how to" geek link about tiling windows horizontally or vertically. Does this address the issue or not? I'd love to know.

And here are two shots from tradingview.com

You can see there are layout presets available for arranging the windows neatly:

                  handmade examples---took forever

                  Irukandji,
Brilliant, and so obvious. I recently did this "tiling" thing in NT 7 and it took me like forever to get all the sizes even close to exact. (see examples). Such a pain. Would be REALLY nice if Ninjatrader would create a tiling capability. Problem is, NT's focus, from what I gather, has been on automated trading. You know what they say, right? 90% of traders lose money, and something like 90% of traders use automated systems....you do the math. Chartists rule!

Hi yes, it's the overly complicated forum system here for putting an image or two inline - be damned if I can figure out how to do it! But glad the video worked for you.

Yeah, it takes a bit of getting used to. To add an image to a post, look below where you're typing to "Manage Attachments".
You have to browse to the file that's saved on your computer, hit upload, and then remember to leave that "Manage Attachments" box open until you hit "Submit Reply" at the bottom of the message you're typing. After it's submitted, you can close the "manage attachments" box.
For example, a monthly chart of gold attached.
                          Hope this helps,

I would already be happy if Ninja's charts at least would support the "arrange windows automatically by dragging them to the sides or corners of the screen"-ability of Windows 10, which puts windows nicely into monitor-quarters with a simple mouse-drag; I was not even aware that there still can be windows in Win10 that do not support that behavior. @NT: any chance this will be supported one day?

                              Hello RonnyKeller,
There are current limitations for how NinjaTrader 8's windows functionality. The item you have mentioned with Windows 10 window functionality is currently not supported and has been noted in SFT-1499 for future window improvements.
