    Orders when NT is closed

    Hi!

I need to go to school and have active orders on; a stop and a target. Will these orders still get filled if I'm not connected to NT? I'm also on the simulator.

Thanks, and have a great day!

    Tony

    Hello,

The simulation account is held locally on your machine, as are all orders on this account. Therefore if NinjaTrader is disconnected, these pending orders will not fill. To ensure these orders are still active, you must have NinjaTrader on and connected to a live data feed.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

      Hey Ryan,

So does that mean if I were on a live account my orders would get filled even if disconnected from NT?

      Thanks

        Hello,

If these were live orders, any accepted or working orders would be held at your brokers servers, so they would be filled even if NinjaTrader is disconnected.

However, the OCO functionality of these orders (if applicable) will vary between brokers.
I've linked to a page with more details on this:

Hi, I am using a simulation account from ninjatrader, is there any way for orders to be held at the broker's server? Thanks

            Ivantr,

            Thanks for your post.

Simulated orders (i.e. submitted to the Sim101 account) would be simulated locally on your PC, so they would not be able to function in the event of a connection loss or shut down. There is not a way to change this.
