    Price data how to add?

On some indicators there is an option called "Price data" which allows a person to add minute bars , tick bars etc at a certain time limit for some indicators.. In "Data series" it is complete, but not in "Price data" as example I have different version of Renko (similar to UniRenko" which are not in "Price Data"..how do these get added to PD?

I am not exactly sure what the 'price data' setting is that you're referring to. Could you provide an example of this setting within a built-in element of the NinjaTrader platform? Please be as specific as possible.

Are you referring to built-in indicator settings? Or are the indicators you're referring to custom add-ons?

If they're built in, please give me an example of what indicator has this property and which one does not.

If they're custom add-ons, please contact the developer to learn more about why this setting isn't included.

'UniRenko' would be a custom bar type. Please consult the documentation provided by the developer of the indicator on how to install properly. Here is a general guide line on how to install custom add-ons:

Note — To import NinjaScripts you will need the original .zip file.

    To Import:
    • Download the NinjaScripts to your desktop, keep them in the compressed .zip file.
    • From the Control Center window select the menu Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-on
    • Select the downloaded .zip file
    • NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.
    • Critical - Specifically for some NinjaScripts, it will prompt that you are running newer versions of @SMA, @EMA, etc. and ask if you want to replace, press 'No'

Once installed, you should see 'UniRenko' available in the 'type' drop down list in the 'Data series' section of the 'Data series' window.

Look at "divergence input series " it has a price data option, but I have added an indicator which is similar to "Unirenko" but is not included there but is included in "Data series" when you chose tick, range minute etc.

A custom bar type will not be available in the 'Indicator' window (it is not an indicator). When creating a chart, you may select the custom bar type from the 'Type' drop down list in the 'Data Series' section of the 'Data Series' window. The 'input series' of this 'Type' will be the instrument which was selected during chart creation. If the chart is set to type = 'UniRenko' then there is no need to select anything else. The indicator will use the bar series of the chart as input.

'input series' is a property of an 'indicator', not a 'bar type'. The indicator Input Series dialogue allows you to select the Input Series for your indicator's calculations. Follow these steps to add an indicator and change it's 'input series':

Right-click on your chart > Indicators > select an indicator > Add > Input Series > Adjust this setting as you desire > OK.

More about this property can be found here:

Yes but when I go in the indicator and go to "Price Data" and select (and not all indicators have this option) and select 1 minute or range (after having selected Uni Renko in "Data series") the results are clearly different..so bottom line there is no way I can get Uni renko in price data in the indicator?

By default, the 'input series' of any indicator added to the chart will have the primary data series type and interval selected.

For example. if I open an ES 12-17 1 minute chart, I expect to see 'ES 12-17 (1 minute)' as the default input series.

If you want the indicator to plot of a different data series, the you would need to add a secondary data series to the chart. Let's say I wanted to view my 1 minute ES 12-17 chart, but I wanted the EMA to calculate based on ES 12-17 5 minute. I would need to add the ES 12-17 5 minute data series to my chart. My chart would then have two data series available to select when editing indicator's 'input series':
            • ES 12-17 (1 minute)
            • ES 12-17 (5 minute)

I imported a custom 'UniRenko' bar type which is available on our forums, and it did not behave any differently than the above.

What is the original source of the UniRenko bar type you're using? Please provide a link.

What setting are you referring to which is called 'Price data'? Where exactly within NinjaTrader are you referring to? Is this a custom indicator or a built-in indicator?

I think screenshots might help clear up this confusion. Please provide screenshots of what you're referring to.

To send a screenshot with Windows 7 or newer I would recommend using Window's Snipping Tool.

Learn how to use Snipping Tool to capture a screenshot, or snip, of any object on your screen, and then annotate, save, or share the image.

Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.
