FXCM connection problem

    FXCM connection problem

    I just updated to the latest version of NT8 over the holiday and started up for the first time this morning. My futures account connects OK, but FXCM not, so I checked with FXCM that their data is indeed up & running - it is - so they suggested recreating the FXCM connection. I have done so, but now get the error message below while trying to connect .

    I've tried both the original FXCM generated account password and also the one I changed it to (I wasn't sure if the change was for their account portal only) : could this be a password issue ? I don't think so, but...

    Help, please !

    Hmmm - I noticed that the "Demo" box in my account connection was incorrectly ticked (perhaps it is ticked by default?), so I no longer get the "Panic" error message, but the connection symbol is still gold not green....

    Btw, I have found in the past that FXCM support invariably revert back to NT support for NT support matters...

      Hello jtrade,

      I suggest to contact FXCM and verify if your account is still enabled for use with the NinjaTrader platform. Unfortunately I can't see this on my end as your trading account is with FXCM.

      If the issue remains, please send me an email at platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com including your FXCM username and password so I can test it on my end.

        FXCM confirm account enabled at their end, sending logs now...

        Hmmm - was taking ages to send, then the program crashed,,, restart and resend coming up...

          Just to confirm, your FXCM account is specifically enabled for use with the NinjaTrader platform, correct?

            Yes, FXCM confirmed that at the end of our chat session.

            Just resending info now (I'm using the Help Request form from within the program).

            Edit : doesn't usually take this long; now anticipating program crash... if it does, I will remind myself how to export the log file and send via regular email.

            Edit : and you didn't even ask for the log file, so sorry, emailing you directly now...

              FXCM Connection Problem

              Hi, having the same connection problem. NT (latest version) is connecting but remaining in that state forever.

              FXCM says that nothing has been changed with my account or their system.

                Unfortunately there seem to be an issue with FXCM connections in NinjaTrader. We received reports from other clients as well. We are investigating the issue. Once there is news regarding the matter, I will let you know.

                  I have the same problem, I cannot login with FXCM account in Ninjatrader.
                  I don't think it has anything to do with updating the software. I was already updated and was able to login 29th December and trade.
                  Now I cannot login anymore.

                  Hope we get some clarification soon.

                      Im waiting too... since the midnight i contact few times to FXCM Support and Ninjatrader Support...

                      Ninjatrader Support told me that was a FXCM Problem.

                      FXCM Problem Support told me that was a Ninjatrader Problem.

                      But the Logic is that i can connect with FXCM Trading Station and Trade, And i cant connect with Ninjatrader.

                      I know that this problem is less of 24hrs but to be honest... this kind of problems is not allowed when i pay 1k for Trading in Ninjatrader Platform.

                        Thanks for the feedback. We understand that these connection issues are frustrating and we hope to have a resolution shortly.

                        If you take a look in your trace files (Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > trace folder) you'll notice an error which states that "The remote name could not be resolved: 'ntac[DOT]fxcorporate[DOT]com'". This is a web service which FXCM created for use specifically with NinjaTrader. This web service currently cannot be reached by NinjaTrader when connecting and is producing this issue. We're working directly with FXCM to find a resolution. I'll be updating everyone when I have more information.

                          FXCM must still be on holiday. It shouldn't take them 30 mins to sort out a web service issue - after all it's been working for the last several years or so. I could have written one myself by now.
