20m delay in order filled?

    20m delay in order filled?

    In sim account, I have over night order to sell NQ at 6605.75 it should be filled at 8:25-8:26 am NY time but it got filled much much later, 20m later at 8:45am. I reloaded all data but nothing change. Is this a technical problem? Will this happen in live account?

    In a live environment, orders in a state of 'working' or 'accepted' will fill regardless of local NinjaTrader conditions.

    There are many variables which could cause a simulation order not to fill.

    What version of NinjaTrader 7 are you using? This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 7.0.1000.X)

    Was NinjaTrader open and connected to real-time data at the time that the order should have filled?

      No, I turned off the machine, it gave the message "you have 1 order open".

      In the morning, I turned on the machine and saw that it got filled that way.

        Since you were disconnected/shut down, this is expected.

        Orders placed to the sim101 account are stored locally on your PC and do not go to any server. This means that if NinjaTrader is disconnected or closed that there is no incoming data for the sim101 orders to execute on.

        This is not possible in a live scenario as live orders leave your PC and reside on your broker's/the exchange's servers.

        I see that you're running an older version of NinjaTrader 7. The newer version contains many critical updates to the database.

        I would advise that you upgrade and then reset the instruments at this time as well.

        First, to upgrade NinjaTrader, please follow the steps below:
        • First get your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
        • Click on the link: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
        • Enter your license key and press Submit
        • Select 'NinjaTrader 7'
        • Select 'Download'
        • Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.

        Lastly, to reset your instruments, please follow the steps below:
        • Disconnect from your data feed: NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Disconnect> Select your data feed
        • Reset your Instruments: NinjaTrader Control Center> Tools> Options> Data tab> Reset Instruments>OK
        • Restart NinjaTrader> Connect (NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Connect> Select your connection
