Today, TDA price source, NT7 no problem, NT8 not getting intraday data

TDA as a price provider. This is happening today.

No problems on NT7.

NT8: No intraday data for charts, Indicators on the marketwatch and Strategies that do require past intraday data not getting enabled due to the lack of such intraday data.

I will send my files to tech support tonight but just want to bring this issue in here to see if anybody experienced something similar.

I tried both NT8 and NT8(64bit) with no difference.

As I am writing this now, I can see that some prices are starting to populate and some strategies are getting the green status, but not all.

Why would NT7 be unaffected or not suffer this issue?

I am able to connect to TD Ameritrade and receive real-time quotes without issue.

We'll need more detailed information about your NinjaTrader to find out what is occurring. Please send is those log and trace files so we may find out more.

As an initial test, I would recommend starting in safe mode to see if the issue persists. In other words, does real-time data stream without issue in safe mode?

• Shut down NinjaTrader then hold down CTRL on your keyboard when you open NinjaTrader
• Connect to TDA and test.

Dear Patrick,

I will send you my files later tonight.

On NT7 no issues.

On NT8, you DO get quotes, but if I try to load a chart all I get is "loading", my strategies are not getting enabled and on the marketwatch you do get the quotes but nothing on other columns such as indicators that need past intraday data.

I've called TDA customer support and said no issues at their end.
My alternatives? (1) Code my strategy back to NT7 as a backup for days like today or (2) getting a paid price feed, but it is so annoying that NT7 has no issues.

Dear Patrick,

Could you tell me if you can load a 14 day intraday chart for a few different stocks on NT8 at your end? That will definitely tell me the problem is only at my end.

You do get quotes but not intraday historical prices needed for strategies and charts.

I get backfill but nothing going forward. Try this trick

While connected, open a work space that's different. Close your current one. Reopen current one, do things start to work?

Close the new one.

Really thank you for your reply. I tried it, but made no difference.

My issue today with NT8 and TDA is not getting the intraday prices needed to populate a chart or to build your strategy. I do get quotes but none or deadly slow intraday prices. This issue is only happening when using NT8 as NT7 is fast and snappy in updating the charts as soon as you click on a different stock.

It is slowly getting back but not for all the stocks. Not sure what the problem is.
