Intraday Momentum Index (IMI)

RSI Classic

The DMI indicator is a volatility adjusting RSI indicator that is included with NinjaTrader you may find helpful.

To add these to a chart, right-click the chart -> select Indicators -> select the indicator from the list in the top left -> click the add button -> click OK


Regarding a true IMI indicator with this title, I was not able to locate one on the NinjaTrader forums, however, a community member may have left a link for NT7 a while back.

First and foremost, you're very kind for following on with haste!

So, apparently, TSI, to your mind, might act as an alternative to RSI Classic?

Am I to understand that your good outfit won't be able to provide, or facilitate, my ability to use RSI Classic, on no account?

As for DMI, why, it's one of my studies already.

I thus shall perform an inspection on both TSI and the IMI information you've laid on, and then offer my response a bit later.

While I cannot be certain of your needs, I would recommend checking out the TSI indicator and seeing if this provides calculations you are looking for.

I'm not certain that I am understanding regarding the RSI.

Is the RSI indicator included with NinjaTrader not adequate for your needs?

Are you aware of an indicator called RSI Classic made for the NinjaTrader platform that is different than the RSI?

If not, you can have any custom indicator custom programmed by a professional or request on the forums if a community member would be willing to create this as a convenience to you.

Well, as I comb through, I suppose, this platform download simulation, I must pose some elementary queries, for starters: where's the cursor, for Heaven's sake?

Also, as I'd mentioned to your fine customer service lad before, my interest lies in equities, rather than in Forex or futures. How would I be able to access such in this introductory phase, so that I can conclude whether or not I'd like to go forward with your fine outfit?

As for missing indicators that I've failed to notice in the drop-down, here is the list of such missing indicators that I require, so as to meet my model, as follows:

Ichimoku Cloud
DMI (that plots DMI+, DMI-, ADX)
Intraday Momentum Index
Percent B%
RSI Classic (not traditional RSI)
MACD Histogram

I'm trying to accustom myself to the whistles and bells, of which I'll raise as appropriate.

All the same, at present, my principal concern, again, lies in assuring myself of being able to plot my requisite studies, as my trading methodology and regime collectively is rooted in having such studies at my disposal.

However you're able to assist me in this endeavour (especially, as it relates to importing or downloading, which I've not done in the past at current and previous brokers) would be greatly appreciated, as I could only imagine how tedious my queries are to you!

But, once I'm at the ready, then I assure you that I'll be out of your hair!

Hello Vaughn A,

I am not aware of any brokers that support equities that offer a trial brokerage connection period.

But you can use the Simulated Data Feed for practicing with fake self-generated data that is not real data from the market if you do not have a subscription to a data feed or broker that supports equities.

To confirm, you are unable to find the DMI, DM, and MACD indicators in the indicator list?

I am not familiar with the Percent B%, RSI Classic, or the Intraday Momentum Index and I was not able to locate these with a search.

This thread will remain open for any community members that may be aware of these indicators.
