convert indicator from NT7 to NT8

Thank you for your note.

There is not an official indicator/strategy converter which takes scripts from NT7 and converts them to NT8 however on the forum there is a post which provides script for conversion.

I’d like to mention its best to do a manual conversion for accuracy as not all scripts are simple enough to be converted directly.

Converting customer code is out of the scope of NinjaScript support however if you’d like I could have someone from our business development team pass over a list of third party developers that you could contact about debugging your code.

Hi Alan thanks for your response too bad you don't do that, oh yeah it's not my code, I found it in your download section.
Any idea if NT will ever introduce a section where you will take requests and code the indicators that are requested?
Reason I ask is after reading numerous posts in different threads about the effect badly coded indicators can have on the NT software, seems it would behove NT to do this. I mean apparently even purchased indicators from a 3rd party do not ensure that they won't screw up one's current configuration.
At minimal, but...
For the sake of us clients how about before you allow one to be part of your Ecosystem You/NT check out the code and verify that it will NOT impact the performance of YOUR platform! Before you allow them to be in your 3rd party catalog. At least then one who does decide to spend $$$ on Xtras can do so without hesitation and consequence.

The first one, IT_LittleLotsTrend was distributed as a compiled assembly and the source code is not accessible, so you would need to reach out to the original developer or vendor to see if there is a version available for NinjaTrader 8 as you can't see how that one is calculated.

The second wmOrderBookOscillator2modified one, on the other hand, is the source code and could be converted to NinjaTrader 8. While we in the support department cannot convert an indicator for you, if you wish to tackle the conversion yourself, we're always happy to answer specific questions that you may run into.

While there is no step-by-step guide that will show you how to do so, you would be well served by looking through the code-breaking changes from NT7 > NT8, as this will detail what parts of your scripts will need to be changed to be in compliance with NT8's under the hood changes.

If Jaybaps1967 owned a license for the NT7 version he would be eligible for the NT8 version. Instead, it looks like he wants something for nothing.

That's funny, as the developer of the Order Book Oscillator for NT7 that is available for limited trial or lease as a code protected DLL from my website, I don't remember releasing an open-source version of this indicator so I would kindly ask Jaybaps1967 (or NT Support) to remove the link to the hacked code or the post entirely.
