I trade forex candlestick patterns almost exclusively. I've been wanting to somewhat automate my scanning/trading so I don't have to spend as many hours sitting in front of a screen each. NCS has been recommended to me, but I want to see if anyone has any real life experience using NCS in this manner. Here is what I want to do with it:
1) Define a group of forex pairs to work with/scan on a daily basis. 30 pairs for example.
2) When a bar closes, have NCS scan that entire group of forex pairs to see if there are any matches from candlestick patterns I am actively scanning for (ie hammer, shooting star, etc.)
3) If NCS finds a match, send an alert to my computer AND send me a SMS text message.
4) Plot something on the chart (arrow or whatever) so I know which candlestick NCS thinks was a match to the pattern I was searching for.
5) Be able to do this simultaneously in multiple time frames (ie 30min, 1hr, 4hr, and daily).
6) Do this continuously around the clock.
7) I'd also want to be able to scan daily candlesticks of stocks as well. This does not need to be automated.
If NCS will indeed do this, which version of NT is recommended and most stable with NCS? I used to use NT 6.5 several years ago, but have not actively used NT in several years. Any reply, especially from people who have experience with NCS would be greatly appreciated. TIA.
