    D3SpotterV3B sound alerts ??

not sure if this is the proper place for this question ... but here goes ...

is anyone else using or having difficulty with the indicator D3Spotter sending out an AUDIO alert in ninja8 ?? im currently running "D3SpotterV3B4"

i have tried several of the "updated versions" but to no avail ... it does not appear to be sending out the audio alert as it did in ninja7

by the way ... i have also upgraded to the latest ver of 8 (15.1)

    thanks

    Hello pfsmedical,

    Thank you for the post.

I just wanted to post a quick message to check that your end is set up for playing sounds for this item.

I reviewed the files and it seems they all default to some sounds that come with NinaTrader. Are you currently leaving the default for the alerts, or have you used something custom? If you are using a custom sound, for custom sounds very likely the whole path would be needed to the sound and not just the name of the file.

It also looks like these indicators have an option to toggle the alerts on and off, just to confirm you have the alerts enabled correct?

I look forward to being of further assistance.

thanks for the quick reply ...

the screen capture shots may help.... but to answer your question .. (easiest one first ... yes .. the sound IS toggled on)

second ... i have loaded the indicator TWICE .. one with the original sound files intact ... and the other with my custom sounds ...(like i use that WORK for ninja7)

maybe not a lot of folks use this indicator and there is not a lot of feedback.

for what its worth ... i have tried numerous configurations including the setup for the sound files that work in the MACrossBuilder indicator

      thanks

obsiously thos ealerts wont fire, as you are inputting the names of files, like:
        "my sound" or etc..
        instead they should be:

        c:\path\to\folder\filename.wav

another questions that comes to my mind, could be asked to NT support: is there a need to add "twice" backslashes instead of one? like `\\` instead of `\` is needed?

          thanks for the reply ..

i'll try your suggestion ... but .. since you programmed the indicator ... are you getting sound alerts on your charts ??

          thanks ... just curious

***EDITED 08/07/18 *** --- is ANYONE using this indicator (or previous versions) getting SOUND alerts in ninja 8. trying to figure out if its the indicator or just another limitation of ninja 8 ???

            Not Throwing off Audio Alerts

            jesse at support ...

is it possible for you to "bench test" this indicator ?? does this coding for sound work in your tests ?? ---- ( i am using the fast D stoch in order to trigger the alert.)

i have tried numerous attempts / variations to get this indicator to send audio alerts ...

the other indicators on my charts (with sound alerts) work fine ... i have looked at their scripts to see if i could figure out the issue .. but to no avail .. its clearly waaay above my pay grade ...

            thanks ....

              Hello pfsmedical,

Debugging or otherwise "bench testing" custom code would be outside of what I can support but I did run this in replay and hear sounds. It seems this did work for me using the default settings of the indicator.

The D3Spotter has a lot of parameters, are you using all default settings or have you customized them?

Also are you certain the condition to alert is becoming true?

Have you also tested this in another mode such as playback where you can go forward in time at a fast rate to confirm if alerts and other items the indicator does are working?

I look forward to being of further assistance.

i ll try the replay method / with all the defaults in tact as suggested ... didnt really think of that ... but if it doesnt work in live mode using fast stochastics .. its of little use to me ..

                update ...

i loaded 2 versions of the indicator .. (pics) ... and left the default settings mostly intact ..

i can pretty much eliminate the problem being with (1) my computer ... (2) the indicator itself.. since one of the authors confirmed to me that his alerts work in 8 ..

sooo ... therefore ... i can only deduce its the software on my end.
