    Stop Loss Query/Chart Annotation

    Hi,

Trying to get to grips with the platform......2 questions..

    1) I entered a trade with a 12 pip stop loss as per the ATM Strategy (STOP12)....I entered the trade with a Stop Order from the Chart Trader, directly onto the chart by right clicking....the entry appeared, the trade was filled, but no stop loss came onto the chart.

    2) The annotations on the chart where an entry has been filled and closed...can they be removed at all after the trade has ended?

    Thank you

    Hello dmackay41,

    Thank you for your post.

Glad to assist. For 1, this would indicate the ATM was not set via the drop-down menu when the stop order was set. To test, please use the steps below to save the ATM stop and submit the order.

Set the required stop value and target if needed
Select the Save as Template button
From the presented file dialog give the template a custom name
You will now be able to select this template from the ATM drop down at any time.

For your order, select the desired option from the "ATM Strategy" drop down list
Right click to submit your stop order

For 2, please follow the instructions below to disable the plotting of trade executions.

Right click in your chart and select the menu "Data Series..."

Find the "Plot executions" parameter for each data series and change the value to "Do Not Plot"

    Press the "OK" button

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

The points you raise above were all in place as per the screenshot below, ie STOP12 was a saved template...and when the order was filled...STOP12 was in the drop down menu with the little lightning icon activated to show the STOP12 was active.

I will try and recreate that problem again and post the screenshot as it has happened with every trade I have placed today.

Thanks...I see what has happened...I placed the Stop Order....the ATM was active (little lightening icon).....I then moved the entry, was filled, and I noticed the lightening icon had disappeared, so moving the entry negates the active stop, and I should simply do another order.......sorted..thanks

Having said that, I have just had an order filled (without moving it), and there is the active ATM lightening icon but no stop loss which should be 10 pips below entry.

Thank you for your reply. These items occurring would be unexpected.

Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your response so I may investigate this matter further.
Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.

I will do that. It is occurring on both my PC and laptop I have running, separate platforms, different Machine IDs...I will distunguish the log files by PC and Laptop.

I have updated this query in a separate email to support and cross referred it to this post....(1953164)

Late Friday past, I followed the steps outlined in your last email......Repair DB etc.....I did this to both platforms on both my machines, ie my PC and laptop as the reported issue affected both, hence your resolution as above.

I do not know the effect these steps will have until I place trades on Monday 13th.

The OTHER issue which was affecting me was a per post https://ninjatrader.com/support/foru...d.php?t=111563

where the Top Dog Custom Indicators on my PC had a color issue whereby 2 of the indicators were showing white, when they should be showing green or red. I had previously reported this issue to Support and was issued with some steps to take which did not work. If they did not work, support said the issue was with the vendor. I consulted the vendor and they said it was possibly a hardware issue with my PC...which I thought...OK.

Because I could not have the correct colors for these indicators on the NT platform on my PC, I setup the other NT platform on my laptop and imported the Custom Indicators onto it, and it worked perfectly...I had the red and green colors back on the relevant indicators, and they were good all thru Friday.

However, yesterday (Saturday), after performing the Repair DB on both my PC and laptop following your advice above, I have found that I have now lost the red and green color for these indicators on my laptop.

So, my thoughts on the loss of the colors of these indicators is that they have nothing to do with the vendor and has everything to do with Ninjatrader. The whole reason I moved to Ninjatrader was to have these custom indicators from Top Dog with these specific indicator colors, and now I do not have them on both platforms on separate machines (PC and laptop)
