Next Futures Contract

Hi, Please could you tell me what is the short-code for pulling an instrument up with its Next Expiring Contract via the keyboard chart instrument switcher?

For example, on the TradingView website, the codes are

CL1! - For the current contract
CL2! - For the next contract

I can't remember the various dates which means that I need to use the menu all the time rather than the keyboard.

Thank you for your post.

Glad to assist. The standard rollover function will only rollover to the current contract after the rollover date has passed.

Instead, I suggest selecting a chart > Typing "CL 09-18" > Pressing Enter to switch to the current contract. You can repeat and type "CL 10-18" > Enter to advance to the next contract.

Once this had been complete, the contract will then be available via all Instrument drop-down menus.

I'm not sure how you implement the suggestion/it addresses your question/issue "I can't remember the various dates".
CL is relatively straightforward, but other instruments that don't roll monthly or the same period each time are more troublesome.
