Price Line

An indicator called 'Price Line' was added in NinjaTrader 8.0.14.0. If you have this version or newer, you can use this to display a price line on your charts..

I don't really want to add indicators, I just want the drawing tool "horizontal line" to show the price in the right hand axis.



Why wouldn't anyone find that useful? That's why all other charting packages usually display the price when a horizontal line is drawn.

There were many requests for this feature during the beta, I think we all just kinda gave up asking.

I don't know why they added feature for a line at the current price and not a feature the price at the current line. It seems like such a simple thing to implement yet NT decides that adding Vol Profile and order flow is a higher priority.

I don't understand why NT does not knock of the low hanging fruit in terms of these types of feature requests.


I would love to be a fly on the wall during the internal NT meeting to see what kind of of logic they use to decide feature additions. From the outside there does not seems to be a lot of common sense applied.

We've created a add-on to accomplish this with lines:

• Download Indicator From: https://ninjatrader.com/support/foru...=9&linkid=1174

To Import:

• Download the NinjaScripts to your desktop, keep them in the compressed .zip file.
• From the Control Center window select the menu Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-on
• Select the downloaded .zip file
• NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.
• Critical - Specifically for some NinjaScripts, it will prompt that you are running newer versions of @SMA, @EMA, etc. and ask if you want to replace, press 'No'

Once installed, you'll notice additional drawing tools available in the drawing tools list.

There is no option currently to adjust the font size. Please leave comments on the download page itself for any suggestions you have.

What does this mean, James?

On the form were the indicator is posted I asked Jim to add the ability to change the font size of the labels and also to make the price label on the Ray Line not interfere with the arrow head. He made those changes very quickly and now the tool is very useful
