Limit Orders above and below price

It would be nice to be able to enter a limit sell above price and a limit buy below price so that both are entered simultaneously. Is that possible?

    Hello tradenoob,

    Thank you for your post.

Are you referring to going Short and Long in the same market at the same time. If so this is possible with the steps I have provided below.

A great feature of NinjaTrader is its ability to manage multiple virtual positions in the same market. This allows you to manage a long and short position in the same market simultaneously.
Here is how this is accomplished:
    • Open 2 SuperDOMs and set them both to the same market
    • Right click in on of the SuperDOMs and select the menu "Properties"
    • Set the 'ATM Strategy selection mode' parameter to "DisplaySelectedAtmStrategyOnly"
    • Repeat the last two instructions on the second SuperDOM
    • Submit a buy order to open a long position in the first SuperDOM
    • Submit a sell order to open a short position in the second SuperDOM
In addition to these instructions, I have provided a link to our Help Guide below that goes over this.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

WOW thanks!! Actually I found that I can accomplish what I want with 1 DOM only. have a pending order for Long and a Pending order for Short in the same market. Just toyed with it in sim and market replay at it works great. Just what I wanted...thanks!!!

Yes, Tradenoob, this can be done easily on the ChartTrader too. For example, if the market is consolidating and you want to place a buy stop entry above the market and a sell stop entry below the market to capture a break out. Just make sure you select the OCO on the chart trader so when one entry stop order fills, the other gets cancelled. This can be a great way to capture the market action surrounding news events.
