"Loading Data" prompt does not go away and no chart is brought up.

When I try to view a chart I get the prompt "Loading Data" it never goes away and the chart does not appear until I click "Abort". Once I click Abort the chart appears but I only get 8 bars of data for a minute chart. I tried formatting data settings to a longer look back to no avail.

I just upgraded to the latest versions of both IB TWS and NT, charts were doing the same thing before the upgrade.

    Please help.

I suggest to close all windows in NinjaTrader except the Control Center.

Make sure there are no workspaces running in the background. Please go to File-->Workspaces and check for workspaces in between "Save Workspace As" and "Default". Close each workspace one by one by selecting it and go to File-->Workspaces-->Close Workspace.

Connect to Interactive Brokers and open up a chart with the default look back period of 15 days and check if the chart will load with data.

Just to let you know that there has been an issue all day with Interactive Brokers being unable to backfill charts.
Unfortunately I can't use NinjaTrader for the time being.

Below is a reply I found on the EliteTrader Forum.

This issue is related to the problems that have been reported with the Historical Data requests being made. This issue has been escalated to our developers and a solution has been made and added to the next update of TWS which would be Build 889. Unfortunately this build is not available yet for production and is still being worked on.

I did phone them and they are having the same problem with loading charts - All they could tell me was the issue should be resolved within 24 hours.

The problem is IB specific, I checked it. Some charts work, some do not, in TWS and Ninja.

If the TWS chart does not display data for an instrument, NinjaTrader will not display the data either. The issue would be with IB and you would need to contact them.

Thank you for notifying us regarding the issues at IB.

              Need Progress Meter

It would be helpful to have a progress meter to show that data is actually being transferred. IB (as well as Opentick) has a habit of not sending data when you want it.
