SMA strategy help

Hello I need some help setting this up, On a SMA cross over how can I set it to buy or sell after a certain amount of bars, for example after fast sma crosses above the slow sma I want to wait for 3 bars to close above the slow sma before I buy,, how can I set this up ?

Thank you for writing in.

I put together a sample strategy which will set a variable of type bool to true as well as set the CurrentBar to a variable +3, when 1 SMA crosses above another, and in a different set of conditions, I check that this bool is true and whether the CurrentBar is greater than xCurrentBar, and if so, EnterLong.

I have attached the strategy.

This would require you work outside the strategy builder however I will submit a feature request which would allow you to save a value plus an offset to a variable, which would make this possible in the strategy builder.

If you'd like I can have someone reach out with a list of third parties which would be interested in building this for you outside the builder.

Can you find the instrument when you search for it in your 'Instrument Lookup Window'?

No a lot of stocks I cant find like for example EMAN

Try manually typing the instrument into the Instrument selector of your Data Series or Chart Window. NinjaTrader should automatically create that instrument in the database once you have typed it in the first time. Depending on your data provider you should then see price data for that instrument.
