    3 charts in Workspace Problem

    Hi guys,
I am new to NT8, having been "raised" on ProRealTime. I am having difficulty forming a a workspace with the 3 usual charts I use, ie 600, 1800 & 5400 Tick.

I can name a new workspace easily enough. I can add these three charts, but cannot find anywhere to save the 3 charts to the workspace. Whenever I go to save the workspace, the charts disappear, and when I click on that workspace, it is blank.

This is different from PRT where you just added the 3 charts into the window, tiled verically, and you just saved the workspace.

Can someone point me in the correct direction please?

    Thanks

        Hi,

I watched the video but it doesnt show me how to add and save 3 charts in the workspace as per my original post.
Here is a jpeg of my PRT workspace which I want to duplicate in NT8.

          Hello,

          Thank you for your post.

To save a workspace similar to what you provided in your screen shot you would need to open this three charts in NinjaTrader 8 and then save those three charts as a Workspace. Below I have provided the steps to do this.

          -Go to New > Chart
-Select the instrument you would like to open your chart for
-On the right set your desired chart type and interval
          -Click OK
-Repeat these steps for the 2 other charts

Next you will want to save these charts as a workspace with the steps below.
-Go to the Control Center and go to Workspaces > Hover over your active workspace and click Save As
          -Name this workspace
          -Click OK

Once the above steps are competed you will have a workspace saved with the three charts your created under the name you saved it as.

Please let me know if I may be of any further assistance.

            Hi

The problem I have is that after I click OK for the first chart, I go to New, and the first chart disappears. I then go to Chart and do the 2nd chart and click OK. I click on New for the 3rd chart and the 2nd chart disappears. I go to Chart and do the 3rd chart and click OK.

I then find the 3 charts from the 3 separate windows and adjust the borders so 3 vertical tiled charts fit on the screen (as per my PRT example).

As instructed, I go to the Control Centre and click on Workspaces. All 3 charts disappear and I find them in the 3 separate windows...and so I go round in a loop..no further forward.

This is the position I am in after adding 3 charts, but now, when I click on Workspace, they disappear

                Hello,

                Thank you for your reply.

This is the expected behavior with NinjaTrader. Each chart will always be in an individual window. These charts will not attach to the Control Center.

So everytime I want to get my charts up I have to do new ones?...surely that is not correct. I just cannot save 3 charts on the 1 workspace...I must be doing something wrong.

                      Hello,

                      Thank you for your post.

You may also want to try the option "Always on Top" to keep your charts visible.

If you would like to test this out simply click on the chart in question and select "Always on Top"

Please let me know if I may be of any further assistance.
