XAU Intraday Data FXCM

How can I get historical intraday data for Gold through FXCM?

The cfd @XAU/USD only has data for the first half of July 2017.

XAU/USD forex has intraday data from September 2013, but it missing a chunk from October 2016 - January 2017, then ends with nothing from January 2017 to today.

What type of chart (bar period and time frame) are you trying to view?

Please right click the chart and select 'Reload all historical data'.

I'm loading up 10000 days of 1 minute data just to get as much historical data as possible. I've managed to get real time cfd data now but it still only goes back to the beginning of July 2017.

XAU/USD forex still has those data gaps and no real time data. Tried reloading historical data.

No real way of back test with these feeds.

Are you able to replicate this?

Okay, I signed up for a FXCM demo account via the actual fxcm website and connected to this through ninjatrader and unchecked 'ninjatrader historical data'. I deleted the cfd folders in /db/cache and now I get minute data going back to 2008 for all cfds. Whilst connected to ninjatrader fxcm demo I could only get cfd data going back to 2013 for the most part. Should I stay connected to this new fxcm demo account? Does the ninjatrader fxcm demo connection not give the full historical data available?

Thank you for your patience.

The XAUUSD and XAGUSD Forex instruments would not have historical data starting in July of this year as the instruments were transitioned over to the CFDS.

Thanks for the help. I've stayed connected to MY FXCM and I'm getting good data back to 2010 and some choppy data going back further, but I'm happy with that. Though I'm confused about ninjatrader fxcm demo only having data back for one year. I've been connected to nothing but ninjatrader fxcm demo prior to today and had cfd data back to 2013 for the most part i.e. dax and bund. Forex back to 2010 and beyond.

Nethertheless, a proper FXCM account seems to be the way to go.
