Display entry, stop and profit targets

Well the title says it all. I am trying to find a way to see the entry, stop and the profit target lines on my charts that are running the strategy. I'm currently running the strategy on a Forex pair. Is there something I have to set to see my unrealized P/L and realized P/L? Currently I'm running in SIM mode until I know I works the way I'd like. Thank you for the help.

    Hello Texasguy,

    Thank you for your note.

To do this you would have to apply the strategy directly to a chart (rather than the strategies tab).

With a strategies applied, you should click the Chart Trader symbol, which will open chart trader. (See screen shot).

When chart trader is open, your strategies working orders will be displayed on the chart.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

      Hello gplatis,

      Thank you for your note.

A new feature of NT8 is that you can run a strategy on a chart and have chart trader open so that you can see working orders. There is no supported method for having Chart Trader Open and a strategy running on that chart in NinjaTrader 7.

There is no additional information as to why new features available in NT8 were not available in NT7.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

        I'm getting closer

The entry line shows up but the stop and target don't. And it's still not reading the P/L. Is this because it is a Forex Sim trade?

          Hello Texasguy,

Chart trader will only show working orders, not contingent orders, i.e. the Profit Target and Stop Loss lines will not show up until the entry order is filled. Once its filled these will be displayed on the chart.

You could confirm working orders on the Orders tab to what you see working on the chart.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

            Alan,

It showed the entry price but no P/L. How do I switch from a SIM account to a live once all the bugs are worked out?

              Hello Texasguy,

The PL is displayed in the PL box as shown in the screenshot. You may need to click the box to rotate between the entry price, PL, etc.

              To Enable the live account,

Make sure your Live license is entered under Help -> License Key, then go to the Tools menu and uncheck Global Simulation Mode.

To gain access to your live account(s) you must disconnect and reconnect.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

Thank you for the picture. Mine looks just like that but with zeros. They even turn red and green when I am up and down in the trade. And my wins and losses don't show up I my realized or unrealized P/L.

                  Alan,

The P/L started to register. In Forex what is the default Lot size? I added an input and called it Contracts. Set it to default 10. Thinking that each entry would then be 10 micros/ 1mini. But I was up 120 pips and it read 12cents in my P/L when I close the position. Is there something I need to define? Value per pip or lot size?

                        Hello Texasguy,

                        Thank you for your response.

Have you tried 100,000 for your quantity? Does this PnL show more ideal results for your trading?

I look forward to your response.
