Connection Lost whilst trading manually

Hello,

This morning I placed a LMT Order, and I lost internet connection before it was filled. When connection was re-established, I saw that the LMT order had been filled whilst the connection was down, but my Protective Stop and Target had not been put in place, so I had to close manually. I know there are some settings within strategies for this type of situation, but is there anything that can be done when trading manually? For example, if an entry order has not been filled to cancel it. Or if the entry is filled during the disconnect, to also place the protective stop and target.

Thank you for your post.

Glad to assist, unfortunately not, functions of NinjaTrader that submit or modify orders like ATMs and their Trailing Stops or Breakeven strategies do need NinjaTrader open and connected to function.

Once in place, the live orders will exist outside of NinjaTrader and your PC and react to market conditions depending on the Order State, so will fill when NinjaTrader is closed. Please see the below link of our help guide for more on order states.
