NT 8.0.1.0 yahoo mail share service still not working?

Hello,

I'm not sure if its just user error, but I have not been able to get yahoo mail to work as a share service in v8.0.1.0 even though the release notes say this has been fixed (issue #10514)

Does yahoo not allow this for regular/free email accounts?

here are the settings that I used:

Server:  smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port:  465
SSL checked
User name:  I've used the full email address

the error received:

There was an error sending your message: Syntax error, command unrecognized. The server response was:

when I try port 587 instead, the error receieved:

There was an error sending your message: The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.7.1 Authentication required

Hello gubbar924,

Both Yahoo and Google typically require application specific passwords to allow a program to send emails through the SMTP server.

Have you tried using an application specific password?
