NT 6 hangs on restart after IB auto shutdown

I have been using NT 6.0.1000.2 with charts for past week. IB auto-shutdown prior to closing out NT6. I was able to close NT6 normally. When I went back to open NT6, charts populate in right places then it hangs while trying to restore workspace. Need to force task to shut down. What do I need to do to get it to start again (assume that I need to ditch current workspace)? Is there a way to save workspace and archive so I do not have to manually rebuild workspace again?

We have identified an issue related to workspace recovery. This will be addressed in our next update due out within the next few weeks. Thanks for reporting this.

How do I get NT6 to start cleanly if corrupted?

OK, workspace recovery will be good. The question is how do I get NT to start cleanly. do I need to reinstall? If I need to reinstall how to I find my activation key since I can't retrieve it?

        Sorry I missed that part.

When NT is shut down, delete the following and restart.

        My Documents\NinjaTrader 6\workspaces\Default.xml

Can a workspace be manually saved?

I have now definately confirmed that when IB terminates itself prior to NT6 being shut down that NT6 will hang on opening next time. While I am now proficient at manually rebuilding my workspace... Is it posiible to just save a good workspace in a separate folder to use as a replacement if a workspace is corrupted?

            - please disconnect NT from TWS before TWS terminates the session
            - yes, you can save and restore the workspace file

              starting Ninja

I love Ninja, save one thing. I can't get the da** thing to load up when I start it up. Hangs up loading workspace. Please help, this is becoming a royal pain in the arse. I am running the latest ver 6.2 thought that this would resolve the problem, no such luck.

There is a bug in NT6R2 which could result in NT hanging on startup. We addressed this issue by a custom build. Please:
                - uninstall NT6 via control panel
                - install custom build from here: https://www.ninjatrader-support.com/...er.Install.msi

                  Still Hanging Up

That is the installation I am running. Any other words of wisdom, from anyone to help resolve this problem. I'm becoming very frustrated. Ninja has a great product if I could just it to go.

                    Sorry to hear that.

                    What exactly is the issue:
                    - you start NT which your charts etc. up and NT is hanging OR
                    - you then connect to your provider (which one?), you get the data loading form and NT hangs there?

Reading this thread it seemed like the problem was fixed with a prev rel of NT (am using the latest 6.5.1000.4).

However I had the same problem twice now (NT hanging during start apparently while restoring "workspace" - after a system reboot/first boot of day)

I am using IB - plus I had a disconnect from the IB side probably as a timeout (I am presently logging into a paper trade account at IB).

Killing the NT task from ProcessExplorer and starting NT again resolved the issue.

I have .NET 2.0 SP1 , 3.0, 3.0 SP1 and 3.5 installed on my machine - I lost 2.0 previously installed when trying to follow some hints in the forum. In the process MS now refused to remove 2.0SP1 and as a result I can not reinstall plain 2.0 now (@!"§$%&/) but NT apparently is at least not complaining.

                      Any hints?
                      Thanks!

                        Is this Vista or XP?

The machine is using XP SP2.

You then could try uninstalling NT and all (!) .NET versions and next reinstall .NET 2.0 only and NT.

I have other applications that require the other framework versions.
When is NT going to use 3.0 or 3.5?
