cannot download forex replay data, but can download index data

Hi,

I am unable to download forex replay data within NT7. I have disconnected from all connections and only selected to download L1 data. I get the error:

There is no L1 replay data available for instrument chosen.

I have tried a few currency pairs like GBPUSD and EURUSD with valid dates.

However, I can successfully download replay data in NT7 for ES 12-18. So I'm not sure what the problem may be.

The other strange issue is that when I use NT8, I can download forex replay data without issue. I guess NT7 and NT8 get their data from different servers?

Would anyone know what the issue may be, or is there a setting I am missing? Also, is there any way of checking that the data is available outside of NT7, without having to go through the menu system each time I want to try and download replay data?

Thank you for your post.

NinjaTrader 7 would not have Forex Replay Data available. NinjaTrader 8 would need to be used for Replay Data if you wish to playback Forex Data.

It seems a little strange that NT7 offers <FOREX> and Currency as a selection Type within the replay selector, but not actually offer that data for real as you mention. Wouldn't it be better to not have them in the drop down box at all to avoid confusion?

Ok, so as a forex trader, it makes better sense for me to use NT8.

It seems strange to me as well. Not sure why NT7 offers Forex and Currency as a selection either. A drop down box would be considered a good option but it is added work for the developer to make sure that everything goes well.
