Default Indicator Open Position

Hi Guys

Is there a way in NT7 that from an indicator i would be able to determine whether there is a current open position on the chart that the indicator is applied to. I would like to add some functionality to my alerts indicator where it will alert me of various things that happen when a position is open on that chart, this is a position created by chart trader manually, not ninjascript.

Cheers
Ross

Default Indicators and Positions

To clarify, is there no way an indicator can access information on a position, such as average cost, or is this only true for positions entered manually (not via script, as mentioned in the original question) ?

You can access position info only in the strategy that issued those orders, as strategies do not cross communicate. As workarounds some users found success writing the info from the strategy to a text file which could be read by indicators for example, or others used a Global Variable DLL as well.
