    Change Msg for Failed To Restore Indicaor

    When an indicator fails to restore, you get a log message like this:

    NinjaScript Failed to restore Indicator 'Unknown'. Most likely (a) the implementation changed or (b) one or more properties have been renamed or removed or (c) the custom assembly which implements this Indicator no longer is there.

    The issue is this message should include the name of the indicator it was trying to restore. NT clearly knows the name as it was in the workspace. It is fine that it fails to restore, but including the failed name would help a user better figure out what was going on, instead of saying "Unknown".

    Thanks for considering this simple usability change.

    I agree, It would be nice if there was more information in that error message and I have passed this on to Development for their review.
    Sometimes simply knowing the possible causes for an error can help you to track down why it occurred. I believe the two most likely situations for this error are:
    1. File corruption. I have mostly seen this happen with Chart Templates.
    2. A custom indicator is created and it was saved in a chart template. The indicator was then modified. If you now try and use the chart template that was created the error would be thrown.


    I will let you know if I am given any more information on this item.

      Thanks, I am sure I caused the issue with some recompiling, but just getting the name would clue me in to what happened.

        While devs are reviewing, should also look at other top level messages like "Chart rendering failed" and the indicator took exception. There are likely more as well. All oth these messages would be vastly improved if Ninja would add the name of the offender to the message.
