    Migrating from 7-8 connection settings

    Hi I am trying to migrate my connection settings that work fine on Ninja 7 to Ninja 8 but it does not work, not a great start .... See log entry below

    Thank you for your post.

    Glad to assist. What version of NinjaTrader are you using? This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 8.0.X.0). Please also verify if 64-bit is listed.

    To test running the migration again, shut down NinjaTrader and navigate to Documents > NinjaTrader 8. Rename the config file here "config.old" and restart.

      Ninjatrader 7.0.1000.37 migrating to Ninjatrader 8.0.12.0 I have a 64 - bit system but always only used the 32 bit Ninjatrader application. The new ninja 8 did install the 32 and 64 bit and I can see both application desktop icons. No connection setting migrated on either. Same error in log after restart and renaming config file.

        Could you please send the log and trace from your NT7 platform to look further into this inquiry?


        To send me your log and trace files from within NinjaTrader. Go to Control Center-->Help-> Mail to Platform Support in NinjaTrader. Put 'Att Shawn', in the subject field and enable 'Log and trace files'.


        Also, give a reference of this thread in the body of the email.

            I have send the log and trace files. The answer that came back was a link how to set up a new connection in Ninjatrader 8. That was not the purpose of the excersise. There must be a programming issue in NinjaTrader 8 . Why is Ninjatrader 8 not importing the configuratin file with the connection settings from Ninjatrader 7.The person that responded was Marco.
