    Draw.HorizontalLine - Performance question

    Hi,

    Quick (and hopefully easy query).

I have an indicator that draws one or more lines on the chart, using OnPriceChange. I notice NT's own recently contributed 'PriceLine' indicator uses OnRender to draw the, in effect, same lines I'm drawing.

Is there a performance advantage to using OnRender in this situation, vs Draw.HorizontalLine ?

Just wondering why this method was chosen over the easier route of using the built in function?

I am just asking as I will update my own indies, if there is a good reason.

    Thanks.

    Hello pjsmith

    Thank you for the note.

The development team likely chose OnRender because they did not want a draw object to be on the chart from an indicator. The performance difference between OnRender and using the function, in this case, is very negligible.

Please let me know if I can assist further.
