can an indicator be OHLC-bars instead of line(s)?

The simplest possible indicator returns one value per bar, which is then displayed a line on the main chart (ma) or sub chart (cci). More sophisticated ones return more than one value and use different styles like lines and hystogram (macd).

I wonder if an indicator can return four values which get treated as OHLC and displayed as bars or candles in main chart.
