Is there a problem with license servers ?

    Hi,

I've had two potential customers having issues this week with the license servers and unable to get the trial license.
Message is "NinjaTrader is unable to connect to its license servers in order to verify the vendor license 'Gomex'."

Never had this message before, but twice this week, once on NT7, once on NT8.

    Any idea ?

    Thanks

    Hello gomifromparis,

We have seen that this message will occur incorrectly if there is not a proper license for the client.

The licensing server is up, and if there is a license inserted properly this will verify, however, if it does not verify two messages appear in the Log. The first says that the licensing server could not be reached in green. The second message is the correct message that states the verification failed and to reach out to the vendor and this is in yellow.

Are you showing there is a second message in yellow about sending the MachineID to the vendor?

        Hello gomifromparis,

The second message in yellow in NT7 is the one letting you know that this user was not licensed properly.

Are you having difficulty licensing a client?

Solution for me: run as administrator

          Hi

I had this issue recently and related it to starting using users control in windows.

Solution is going to the exe of Ninja (7 or 8) in program files/bin, right click on it, in the tab compatibiliry mark is as Run as administrator. (My windows is in Spanish so I am translating as I think will appear in English).

That will make it start without problem.

Another thing to notice is how stringent is antivirus.

          Hope it helps

          Regards
