    Referencing an Arbitrary Indicator

    Hi,

    Is there a way to give a type to an instance of an external NT indicator without specifying the actual indicator? More specifically, I know I can do

    Code:
    private SMA mySma;
    if (State == State.Historical)
    {
         mySma = SMA(20);
    }
    I'd like to give the user an option to chose any one of the NT averages (SMA, EMA, ...) and assign it to an instance variable, say myAvg so it can be referenced throughout the script. So I'd like to do something like ...

    Code:
    private [B][COLOR=Red]Indicator[/COLOR][/B] myAvg;
    if (State == State.Historical)
    {
         myAvg = [COLOR=Red][B]IndicatorChosenByUser[/B][/COLOR](20);
    }
    Not sure if this can be done in an easy way. Probably can be done via Reflection but I wonder if there might be an easier way to do this. Any suggestions regarding how to approach this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    That is exactly how to do it.
