How To Create Alarm.

Hello all,

Looking for help on creating a simple alarm in NT8. Please refer to attached pic for information.

Hello Segwin, and thank you for your question.

You can create alerts on charts by right clicking and selecting alerts.

To create an alert that displays whenever Renko bars change direction we can set up our alert like this :

Up arrow :

• Condition 1 : If the closing price 3 bars ago is less than the closing price 2 bars ago
• Condition 2 : If the closing price 2 bars ago is greater than the closing price 1 bar ago

Down arrow :

• Condition 1 : If the closing price 3 bars ago is greater than the closing price 2 bars ago
• Condition 2 : If the closing price 2 bars ago is less than the closing price 1 bar ago

I have included a picture where I make these settings. Once you have set up conditions as above, you can select arrows from the actions section. Please let us know if there are any other ways we can help.

Question Jessica, why 3 & 2 bars for less and then 2 & 1 for greater? Would they both be 2 & 1 the use less or greater?

Thank you for your question, segwin. The idea behind our alert conditions was to check to see if the bars were going in one direction one tick, and then the other direction the next tick.
