    Feature Requests

Reading this thread: https://ninjatrader.com/support/foru...d.php?p=548115 gave me an idea I would like implemented.

In the thread Ray said that customer feedback is important, and user demand is an important factor in determining what to implement. However, some people said that many times there might be no votes, even though there is demand.

I think an other hurdle is, that there are many threads and not everybody reads all threads (I certainly don't), but quite often a feature request comes from a thread that was started for technical help or whatever.

So, would it be possible to do this:

    1. Create a forum specifically for feature request.
    2. When there is a feature request in the forum and a tracking number for the request has been assigned, update the thread title with the number (an admin, or the NT person creating the number, because users might not do it).
2.b. In case the thread title is not very descriptive, please update it with a better description (also admin, or NT person)

    3. If a feature request comes up in a different forum (indicator development for example), please create a new thread (admin or NT person) in the feature request forum, with a short description and a link to the original thread.
    4. If a feature request is implemented, update the thread (including title) in the feature request forum.

I understand it is a little more work for NT, but it could be made part of the feature request tracking creation process. However this way it is a easier for users to see what request there are, and add votes to the ones they like.

What do you think? Would it be useful?

    Thanks for the feedback!

Having a public tracking system for feature requests is actually already a feature request itself. The tracking number for "Provide publicly open feature request tracking" is SFT-1355 and I've added your vote. I'll also add your specific feedback to modify our processes on the forum to make access to existing feature requests easier for users to track.

Currently, we typically always provide the feature request tracking number in the forum post. If you've noticed that one of my colleagues has submitted a feature request but never followed up with a tracking number, than this was an accidental oversight. I'll be happy to look further into any of those you can find to hep clarify.

When a feature request list is implemented by Ninja....how about adding a contribution option...users could decide to contribute an amount toward expeditiously programming an item...(Ninja would initially show the total cost to implement)....in this way items with perhaps few "votes" could get done....the actual implementations would be available to all.....this could speed up the process.....

In the mean time, where is the best place to make a request?
