Why was NinjaTrader 8 Beta released to a closed group of users?
As we have done in beta of past major versions, it is important that the initial release is closely monitored and that known showstopper issues are identified and resolved before a general public beta release. The initial group of beta testers includes both power users and partners who have independently signed agreements to test the software helping us prepare to deliver the best possible public beta experience.
When will NinjaTrader 8 Beta be available to the general public?
The beta process is a critical phase in the software development life cycle. It facilitates the testing, reporting and resolving of issues with the goal of producing high quality, stable software ready for general release. NinjaTrader 8 Beta will be available as a public release once all known showstopper bugs have been resolved.
How can I join as a beta tester when this is available for the general public?
You can simply download the beta from our website, no registration or forms required.
When will NinjaTrader 8 complete beta testing and be available as a general release?
NinjaTrader 8 will be available as a general release once the number of reported issues significantly reduces and all known critical bugs have been resolved.
Will there be an upgrade cost to NinjaTrader 8 from NinjaTrader 7?
There is NO cost to access NinjaTrader 8 for all existing users both paying and free.
Will the price of NinjaTrader increase with the general release of NinjaTrader 8?
As you know, NinjaTrader is FREE to use for advanced charting, market analytics, backtesting and trade simulation. We have no plans to change this policy. For our “paid” licenses, we have not raised prices in over 7 years! If there was a price increase at any time in the future, existing Lease and Lifetime clients at the time of the increase will not be impacted. If a potential price increase is a concern for you, the best defense is to purchase a license now to lock in our current pricing.
Will NinjaTrader 7 scripts be compatible with NinjaTrader 8?
Unfortunately, scripts will not be compatible however the conversion process for the majority of scripts should be minimal. We have included a comprehensive “Code Breaking Changes” section in our NinjaTrader 8 Help Guide that will be accessible once you have access to NinjaTrader 8 Beta.
Will NinjaScript files available in the NinjaTrader Support Forum be converted to NinjaTrader 8?
As of May 4th, 2015 all of the NinjaScript files in the “NinjaScript Educational Resources” section have been converted to NinjaTrader 8. We plan to convert most of the files contained in the “NinjaScript File Sharing” section in the coming months.
Will NinjaTrader 7 still be supported once NinjaTrader 8 is released?
