    Ninja Trader crashing randomly

    Hello ,

    I have converted an indicator from NT7 to NT8 and I witness from time to time application crashing.

    I was so desperate that I found a way to find the error from Windows 7 app crash Report .wer file.

    I have attached the file. Could you help me out on this.

    I have no clue about what's happening because it comes from Windows and I get nothing from NinjaTrader trace or log files.

    Your report is similar to some of the symptoms I have seen


    Does NT8 produce a .wer file? If so, where do I find it? I'd like to see whether mine is in fact similar to yours.

    UI[2]=C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 8\bin64\NinjaTrader.exe
    UI[3]=NinjaTrader has stopped working
    UI[4]=Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.
    UI[5]=Check online for a solution and close the program
    UI[6]=Check online for a solution later and close the program
    UI[7]=Close the program

      Hi ETF Voyageur

      It is not coming from NinjaTrader but From Windows 7.

      You have to go your C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\R eportArchive
      and you open the file with notepad and save it as a txt file.

      I recently submitted application on windows marketplace and got the crashing report in .wer format. but I dont know how to understand the report to find out the problem.I am opening it into notepad...

        Could you please reply with your script attached, so that we may investigate this behavior further?


        You can attach your script to your response by going to Tools > Export NinjaScript > Export selected source files > select your script > select the right arrow > Export. The file will be located under (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom\ExportNinjaScript.


        You could post the script to your forum reply, or send an email to platformsupport [at] ninjatrader [dot] com with the script as an attachment. In the email please include a link to this forum thread.

          Hello Shawn,

          Unfortunately this is a huge indicator 40k lines of code and this is a protected indicator with click secure.

          I thought that just by looking at the attached report file you could guide me on something.

            We would need to be able to reproduce the issue on our end with any steps you can provide, so that we can understand what the source of the behavior you are seeing may be. Then I could forward that information to the development team to find a solution for a future release.
