Default Chart - Chart style reverts to Candlestick

NT Team,

There appears to be an issue with a chart's chart style whereby it reverts to chart style = Candlestick and Bar width = 3 on any change of the chart data series (e.g. Data series Type = Day and Value = 1 changed to Type = Minute and Value = 60).

The issue is consistent where the data series is changed via the data series window or via the chart toolbar.

Regards
Shannon

Hello Shansen,

Thank you for reporting this.

I will check to see if this was intentional or something we need to improve.

NT Team,

This issue is still present in release 8.0.0.5.
Please advise its issue #, so I may see when it is resolved via your release notes.

Thanks again

Hello Shannon,

Thank you for your patience.

This behavior is expected in NinjaTrader 8 as the data series will switch to it's default Chart Style. Each Chart Style in NinjaTrader 8 is no longer "unsupported" or "supported", as each Chart Style would be supported if custom or not. And this is where the change in behavior is seen.

Patrick,

Thank you for your response.

"... the data series will switch to it's default Chart Style" implies the default Chart Style can be customised somewhere. Where can this be done? Where can I set the default Chart Style to OHLC, barwidth = 1?

It is my understanding the data series window is not the correct place to set this default Chart Style.

Thanks again
Shannon

Patrick,

Apologies. I have now set chart style "presets" as per UserGuide - Saving chart defaults and templates.
