Attach a trailing stop to indicator

NT8 provides a great feature - Attach order to indicator.
Is it possible to do that using NinjaScript? Moreover, it is possible to attach a trailing stop of an already filled order to an indicator, using NinjaScript?

Thanks for your inquiry.

NinjaTrader 8 allows attaching orders to indicators - and entering ATM strategies from those orders. This also extends to using stop strategies that allow you to configure an auto trail.

In the past this automation was only possible through NinjaScript. You can still configure a NinjaScript strategy using SetAutoTrail(). You can also configure your strategy so it can place a limit order that gets updated with the value of an indicator or that triggers an entry upon a crossover. The same can be done for exit orders. So you can have the strategy enter based off the value of an indicator and you can exit based off the value of an indicator.

A simple NinjaScript strategy that can do this can be made using the Strategy Builder, without the prerequisite of having a programming background.
