    Gross realized PnL wnen flat and IB paper account

    Hello,

    I'm trying to trade IB paper account with NT8 to verify the commissions etc.
    It all looks fine with orders and trades. I use chart trader and see all trade results wnen in the position (using ATM). But when I'm flat, the realized PnL always a zero. Sure, I'd checked the appropriate box at the chart Properties before started to trade.
    Its OK with NT8 Sim and my real IB account.
    Also, I cant see the PnL of IB paper account at Account Tab (Control Center). Current cash values of the paper account correspond to TWS.
    What am I doing wrong?

    What version of NinjaTrader 8 are you using? You can find this in the Help > About screen (for example, 8.0.1.x)

    What version of TWS are you using?

    Please try removing your IB paper account from NinjaTrader's database as a test:
    • Disconnect from Interactive Brokers
    • Navigate to the Control Center > Account tab
    • Right-click on your IB paper account > Remove account
    • Reconnect and test to see if PnL appears in the Accounts and Positions tab of the Control Center.

      Hello,

      NT8 is 8.0.9.0 64-bit (Standard)
      TWS is 960.2g
      Ill try to reset the database later and you know if the problem persists.

        I'd like to clarify that I am not recommending a database reset just yet, but simply removing the offending paper account.

        Also, I see that you're using an older and unsupported version of NinjaTrader 8 (8.0.9.0). Please upgrade to the latest version (8.0.11.1) before trying to troubleshoot using other steps. To upgrade NinjaTrader, please follow the steps below.
        • First get your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
        • Enter your license key and press Submit
        • Select 'NinjaTrader 8'
        • Select 'Download'
        • Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.

        After the upgrade, remove your paper account following my prior instructions and then test.

          Hello,

          I've installed the latest version of NT8, removed and reconnected IB papertrade account. Still no any data at Realized PnL at chart trader and Accounts tab.
          What shall I do?

            I am able to reproduce this behavior on my end with an Interactive Brokers paper account. I am looking into this more deeply with the Development Team.

            I'll follow up when I have more information. Thanks for your patience.

              Upon further investigation, it looks like the methods I tested were not valid due to using a forex instrument.

              What instrument were you testing with your paper account?

                After further analysis, we determined that this is a limitation of Interactive Brokers paper accounts and forex PnL specifically. Other asset classes update the PnL without issue.
