Indicator ´NinjaTrader.Indicator.MACD´ could not be serialized

I just saved my workspace and: "Indicator ´NinjaTrader.Indicator.MACD´ could not be serialized. Please refer help for more information on serializing indicators."

What does that mean? Thx in advance!

    Hello Flxxx,

    Thank you for your post.

Please try repairing your database: Tools --> Options --> Misc --> Repair DB.

Hello, I'm getting this exact same error but with a different indicator than the original poster.
I have repaired the database and the .net framework and still I have an issue but only with one indicator. It's a custom indicator that I purchased so it's not a problem with the code.

Are there any futher steps I can take for this serialization error?

        Hello jjthetrader,

I suggest to contact the vendor of the indicator regarding the issue.

Try uninstalling the indicator and re-install it.

In addition, I did a search on the forum and found the link below.

          Hello Jason and JJ,

JJ and I have the same indicator installed (it's in compiled DLL format). I'm running it on Windows XP and the indicator does serialize successfully, without a problem. I can create templates with it, and I can save workspaces with it.

JJ cannot do either of those two operations. The only apparent difference is he's running on Vista, I'm on XP. I'm running NinjaTrader 6.5.1000.9...and I'm not sure what he's running.

Let us both know if this info helps!

          Thanks again,
          Ben

            Hi sgbtrading,

Thank you for your post and information.

NinjaTrader supports both XP and Vista as long as they are the 32 bit version.

Perhaps your .NET Framework is corrupt.
-uninstall ANY instance of .NET using the Windows Control Panel
-reinstall .NET 2.0 from this page: http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/su...ationguide.htm

I tried .NET and repair DB first and that didn't work. Uninstalling and reinstalling the indicator solved the problem. And that's it. Thanks for everyone's suggestions.
